Get the GST or the GSX. GSX is all wheel drive, but is slower against the GST beyond the 1/4 mile because of the added weigth from the AWD system. The GSX tends to beat the GST in the 1/4 because the AWD system gives better handling and pickup off the launch. The GSX is also better in bad weather. Getting a GS will just require more work and $$. Buying a GS and building it up, you might run onto issues with design. Why buy an above ground pool and spend money making it an in-ground pool? Why not just buy the in-ground pool? Plus a lot of GSXs (especially the 1999) came fully loaded. Mitsu's are awful holding their value so depending on the year you're looking for, you could get a nice GST.

The GST will be better....BUT for cheaper, every GS in ANY model car will be cheaper, cuz it's got mainly the "basic" things...plus it's cheaper on your insurance. But if your going to bother getting a new engine for it later, I'd just go ahead and get a GT or GST

You cannot put the turbo engine from the turbocharged eclipse into the non-turbo engine from 95-99. the NT engine is the same that is in the Neon and the turbo engine is mitsu. The engine mounts are in totally different places. However... you can buy a turbo kit to install onto the non turbo engine. Here is where you can get it.

you can buy a non turbo engine from the junkyard when you buy your eclipse. the non turbo engine is cheap. then you can build it how you want it while you drive the car. when you finish the engine to the specs you want it, swap them out and sell the engine that is already in your car.

If you got that kind of money and can wait just a little longer, you might want to check out the new 2008 concept-x and sportback, it is nothing that you can image! I am just waiting to get behind the wheel to test drive this beauty! - Proud owner of a 2001 Galant.
