The Ganga emerges at the Gaumukh in Himalayas, then reaches The Gangotri, after that Devprayag, then Rudraprayag, then Karnaprayag. then River Ganga lands in India right from Rishikesh, then touches the land at Haridwar for the first time. Then Garhmukteshwar. Then it reaches the industrial town of Kanpur, Then the Holy city of confluence with the Yamuna & the Saraswati, the Prayag (Also called Allahabad). After that it reaches the most holy pilgrimage of India, The Kashi (Varanasi or Benaras). There from it reaches Patna, then Bhagalpur, then one of its distributary the Hooghly also passes the Kolkatta, and finally the Gangasagar (the delta of Ganga).

i totally agree with you . but i have never heard of such a committee Ganga is considered as a sacred river in India so we should keep it clean..
