It seems the Laredo market doesn't really need a local ABC affiliate. Many Laredoans who have cable still have access to ABC and if they need to hear news there's NBC or Univision. The recent failure of CBS offering local news seems to discourage many businessman from investing in bringing an ABC affiliate to Laredo. Thats why the local FOX affiliate left Laredo years ago as well since there really wasn't a need for it but Laredoans can still watch FOX through cable.

I have no idea where that is, but that's kind of weird that they don't have an ABC affiliate. Is this Laredo that you speak of in the middle of nowhere or something?

ABC, as well as NBC and CBS will not gain access to any area that is not in the top two, as far as market share is concerned. This policy is voted on by stock holders.
