Klo-Jann:
I know that you are really confused by the fact that 0 cannot be divided by 0 itself.
I have had an explanation for the problem:
I have a box. It is empty (assume that there is 0 things in it, not including air).
I divide the box by 0 using partitions of no thickness because I want to know how many nothings (0's) are there in the box and the partitions do not count.
Yes, there is one 0 in the box, because it is empty.
Yes, there are two 0's in the box, because I have halved it with the partition.
Yes, there are three 0's in the box.
Yes, there are four 0's in the box.
Yes, there are five 0's in the box.
Yes, there are six 0's in the box.
...
And you reach infinity...you don't know the exact number of 0's in the empty box, [:p] unable to be defined.
This is the explanation.

I am alive today because of science. And there's a good chance that you are too ... or at least, that science will save your life someday.
I was born with a defect in my digestive system that was not allowing food to pass through my stomach. I would have died as an infant ... had it not been for the doctors who used the methods and technologies provided by science to diagnose what was the problem, the radiologists (using a concept called "X-rays" ... you may have heard of it ... except that this is a science concept) who pinpointed the problem, the surgeons who went in a fixed it, and the scientifically discovered substances called "antibiotics" that prevented me from dying from infections due to the surgery.
(Oh, and it's also a certain scientific discovery called "electricity" that is allowing me to tell you about it. There are more scientific discoveries in play when you type the question mark at the end of your question than you will ever know.)
Is that a good reason for me to "accept science"?
If not, then the next time you reach for an aspirin or ibuprophen for a headache, or some doctor X-rays your broken arm, or gives you some medicine, or is about to put you under anesthesia for some life-saving procedure, be sure to remind that doctor that "science it self is nonesense."

Yes, the theory that electrons are either particles or waves. This is known in some circles as a duality theory. I'm sure that you have studied this theory in great detail and are not asking for it to be explained. Rather, you want to know how one can "make money" from Science? I've been quite happy over this past 41 years to be a student of Science and over this past 13 years to be a professional chemist. There are SO MANY things to learn and see that I wish my life spanned infinity. They say that knowledge is power. I say that knowledge is contentment.
Perhaps I should compliment you on getting so many diverse and thought provoking answers to a question that seemingly covers so little ground.
Good Luck with your studies.

I accept science because it does work. Flaws can be found in some theories but the experimental side of science, where a lot of approximation is done, saves it.
0/0 = 0 * (1/0)
The limit of 1/x when x goes toward zero tends toward infinity. So we have zero multiplied by infinity. That's why it is undefined.
Also in advanced science like quantum mechanics many notions defy our commom sense. Many people have problems with this.

AH this is truly the beauty of mathematics. It is here in the crux of the numerical system, 0 and infinity. all the other stuff can be placed and defined and ordered. Everything in its place. That's nice for 99% of every thing in this world (or perhaps I should say 99.999 repeting%) In fact we have so much difficulty dealing with then we use phrases like a number 'approching 0' This stops us from having to face the uncalculatable.
I was first awakened to this beautiful attribute to the language of mathimaticswhen my highschool teacher demonstarted how he could mathimaticaly prove that 1+1 = 3.
No not nonsense just bigger than we can completely wrap our minds around.
I like to think that God created the universe using the language of mathimatics. as we unfold the mistries of science we learn the lanuage of the math needed to describe it. wee have more to learn of nature and science, and more to learn of mathimatics

Any number divided by zero is undefined.
0 / 6 means how many times does 6 go into 0. And the answer is, 6 doesn't go into 0.
6 / 0 means how many times does 0 go into 6.
The answer can be any number for 0 to infinity, which is what undefined means.

science allowed you to post your question.
where do you think everything you use in every day life comes from? it is invented by intelligent people who trust science and use science to develop the things that you take for granted every day.
this stuff doesn't just fall from the sky, you know.
oh, and the reason any number divided by zero is undefined is that the zero can go into that number a trillion times or two trillion times or 50 trilliion. that's why it's undefined.

So because we are intelligent enough to distinguish that nothing can be reasonably divided by zero it is nonsense? Seriously, tell me how you plan on dividing something by zero. It cannot be done. Zero is the lack of anything--nothing does not go into something. By the same token, something contains near infinite nothings. So, we acknowledge that any #/0=undefined.

Science is very specific in its language and meanings, as is mathematics. To say that something is meaningless because it is described as "undefined" is to not understand what is meant by it. As to science being only for money making schemes, tell it to the pediatric oncologists - the child cancer doctors - tell them that they are only in it for the money and watch as their patient's parents beat you to a bloody pulp.

I freakin' agree with you. I respect science for what it is but they have their limits...It's called their tiny little brains! And worse of it is we live in a society that is being enslaved by it .They pretend to have the last word on everything and if they can't dissect it or analyse it under their microscope, then it isn't viable. I lived a lot of unexplained experiences that they would qualify as "paranormal" . Well, they are normal for me.God is not to be understood ,but rather to be experienced and lived.Ppl fear what they can't understand.
