Where each has one vote on a issue and we ourselves create an agenda and vote it... rather than some jerks to represent us in the parliament? It could have a local, regional and a global dimension? Do you think it can work with our present levels of technology? All government could be just paid managers with no special status who execute our will!!

Or are we too slavish for that? Are we obsessed with heroes? Do we need a "superman" out there who may be a "super a.. hole"?

No, not overall federally...we do need to have people who deal with day to day issues and set policy,,,but it would be nice if they set this policy with everyone in mind and not use the "mandate of the vote" which just mean "I won, I get to say"...

I believe in local rights and state's rights. we definitely need a system of fairness that all states agree on, but the states should be more like small countries instead of dominated colonies...I think the Confederates were fighting for states' rights, but they were also thinking about slavery (which made using states' rights immoral), precidents were set because of the Civil War for having a more dominant federal system.

If you want, i found an article talking about the recent attempts by the Administration to federalize the National Guard and make all public right-of-ways under federal jurisdiction instead of the local towns they were in...this actually breaks 200 years of tradition and may be unConstitutional...i think the public will have less and less say as time goes on
