Hmmm, that is a tough one. I loved the old arcade Empire Strikes Back game. The one where everything was made with green lines. Also, I enjoyed the game Shinobi. Then there is also the classic PacMan.
Age of Empires II, Mechwarrior 4, and Diablo II are also very addictive.

best driving game was Micro Machines for Genesis. you could bump someone off the table small syrup drop cause you to slow down. It was kind of cartoony, but the play was excellent
