Crikey? Are Land of Eng people into the Twins? I always thought that was Scando country up there. Simply put, my bloody fellow, the hell you are experiencing has to do with the fact Francisco Liriano looks done. He did not take the anti-inflammatory drugs he needed and now his arm is basically done for the year.
That means there is a big hole in the rotation now and it has to have affected the ballclub negatively knowing the best pitcher in the AL this season is no longer available. Johan Santana and Carlos Silva need to kick it up a notch.

Twins are absolutely crushed by the loss of Liriano. They were ridin a huge streak or 50 games, and when he went down it was tragic. What they feel is comparable to what the Red Sox would feel if Shilling went down, Or the Yankees if RIvera went down. It's not over yet though, because Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau are probably two of theo most underrated hitters in the game. They COULD take the wild card, which seems very possible given the red sox struggles and the white sox inconsistency

I hear ya there. I was at the game last night and it was really sad. And, then they win today--it seems as though I'm always at the games they lose and the next day they win. Oh well! They're just going through a rough patch right now-not swinging the bat aggressively enough and need to step it up in the offense and defense, but I think they've proved this season to never count them out and that they'll be back. GO TWINS!!!

As Craig said, they were due to cool off. Losing Liriano doesn't help, and their big problem is is that while their lineup hits well for average, it doesn't hit well for power. Beyond Morneau, they really don't have a slugger they can depend on to step up and clear the basepaths.

Liriano's gone, probably for the rest of the season, but Johan Santana is still there so maybe they'll bounce back.

they just hit a rough spot, like the Tigers. If there's one thing about the Twins, they always bounce back (causing many headaches for this Tigers fan!)
