would like to convert my dvd movie to mpg4 format, need to know of any software that will do this type of conversion.

I do this a lot, it is sort of complicated though.
First you need to find a DVD decrypter (free trials are availible if you search on google.)
You need to decrypt it into either AVI or MPEG format. Then, you need to download Jodix Ipod Video Convertor (free, search on google) and then it converts it for you. This process could take up to 3 hours though.....depending on the lenght of the dvd.

You need to be able to extract the footage off the DVD, you can use DVDxDV.
Then you can use Quicktime pro to convert your movie in MPEG4 or H264 the 2 formats the iPod will read.
