I just got a new Gateway laptop computer, and the home page is set to: http://www.google.com/ig/gatewayr?hl=en. Whenever I try to change it, nothing happens, it just stays the same. What can I do to change my home page?

Looks Like You Have A System Default Application.
Try Googling "Home Page Override"

Please open the Internet explorer and clickon 'Tools'.A dropdown menu appears and then clickon INTERNET OPTIONS.and a window opens. You will find a small window for address.Enter the new home page address and click 'Apply' then click 'O.K' and exit. You have set your Homepage.Next time you open IE the new page will open automatically.Another way is to open the desired page by typing the details in the address box of IE wait till the page is fully loaded and then go to internet options and click 'Use current' and then click 'O.K'

If you are using Internet explorer....

At the top click on teh tab that says TOOLS
Then click on INTERNET OPTIONS

There will be a section at the top saying home page and a spot to enter the new address...
enter the desired address.... and then click APPLY. After you clock apply click OK and close the window. That should work!

Go to the website that you want to be your homepage, then look at the left part of the address bar. There should be a little icon. Click on the icon and hold the button down and then drag it to the house icon on the toolbar.
