I had to re-download windows on my pc,but now my audio doesnt work. The computer tells me there are no devices installed.The volume controls in the device manager are faded.I have tried all options in troubleshooter without success.How does one reinstall audio and/or Can i download software off the net to help?

You can download drivers for your audio, sure. I need to know what your audio is called before I can tell you where to go find the driver, though.

Right-click My Computer. Click Properties. Click Hardware. Click Device Manager. Click the + next to Sound, video and game controllers. Find the name of your audio device. Post it here by adding more details, and I'll check back.

ok just give me the name of your audio card and i will search for the driver and give you the direct download link or if you want i can send it to you by email. this is how you can search for the audio card's name:

If you're using the on-board sound card, the driver should be on the motherboards driver cd. You can search for its driver on the net. Just specify its brand name and model or let your computer search for better drivers. Go to device manager from control panel>system.

Usually you are provided with a driver CD, but if not then you can go to the manufacturer site and download the drivers form the site itself. or else find the make of the sound card go to its manufacturer site and download its specific driver.

just u go to google and type Compaq presario audio driver,their u will get the links,from that links u can download the drivers.

if you know what is your audio manufacturer then visit

www.driverzone.com and select audio, then your manufacturere then it will show all drivers, select yours, and download it,

else, go to the motherboard manufacturer, search for its model, and you will find all drivers that fits to your motherboard, download the audio one.

you need to know what your audio card is first.
then you can load the right drivers.
