My first husband, for 20 years, I thought I knew. But I never did, because I kept delusions about who he was...there were countless clues that he was deceptive, but I just thought it was my problem and I was "crazy", as he told me I was!! Once I left him, the true nastiness of him came to the surface. I was absolutely amazed at how awful he was and couldn't believe I had been putting up with living with that person for 20 years. Guess I really was kind of "crazy" after all!! LOL

Yes. My best friend growing up with. She did something one day that went against the moral code of almost every single soul on the planet. She lived a life trying to be a good example to all around her, and I thought I knew her. In that one deceptive move, done intentionally repeatedly, she showed her lack of respect for anyone on the planet. I was thoroughly shocked beyond belief, we have not been friends since because I was told I could no longer be her friend if I didn't support her by saying what she was doing was right. It would have gone against all I believe in if I had agreed with her.

I had a best friends for many years who about a year ago stole all my money out of my bank and stole my brand new car and totaled it. I was beyond hurt. I didn't even know I could hurt that much. I ended up being the reason she is now spending some time in prison. I felt very foolish in the end, but learned what a good con artist was.

My father. He always seemed odd to me and I could never quite figure out why he choose to do certain things. Well them he effed up real bad (sorry, too personal to post so publicly) and I realized that I had no clue who he was. I could tell you all the fluffy little details, but nothing of any real substance. Unfortunately, I may never get a chance to figure him out since he basically just disappeared....

Yes oh yes. I beleive it was his insane behaviour and total lack of humanity and or gratitude that made me realize this cream delacreme of humanity I had been waiting for was just a fake gangster. A sissy la la. And a coward, liar and crumb. Oh well.

(just for the record guys in groups in general have the back bone of deboned fish and smell about as nice too)

Unfortunately that happens in marriage all the time. In one case that I am familiar with, the guy decided after 25 yrs of marriage to come clean to his wife about him wanting to do open marriage things with her. She thought she knew everything about him and even thought he was sort of a poor lover, but she never said anything about it. He says he is a bad lover to her because he wants to be kinkier. He's a leader in the Church, the Community and the father of 5 kids. They are still together because she decided to get into his ideas with him to check it all out. Who knows..... Good Luck

Yep, it happens all the time. I guess the end result for me was total heartbreak and confusion, not to mention I felt like such a fool.

like I have been dating this guy for 3 years, we almost stick with each other at class, break, at our little "home sweet home" and I am just gone to another city for work after 6 months and he had someone else. I thought I known him enough to become part of his life and it turned out his seeing someone (one of his childhood friend) behind me....

Unfaithfulness always causes one to wonder if you ever knew them at all.

Well you did know them but they messed up. No one is perfect.
