Enough already! It's just a string of bad T.V. series and movies! There are sci-fi shows and movies that are actually good. Why bother with Star Trek?

I am a Trekkor! I attended conventions. I was first in line at movies. I met stars from the show. I grew up believing that I could travel through the galaxy.
Yeah whatever............you can hate it all you want. But I love the fantasy and camp of it. There were actually a handful of great stories told through this "sci fi" series. The fact you have such a strong opinion shows this bad series affected you too.
Going to the convention next week in Vegas? Come on down.......it will be fun!

And what is wrong with Star Trek? There are plenty of popular shows out there that are much worse - Everybody Loves Raymond for instance was very popular, and it sucked like you wouldn't believe!
Star Trek has done more for technology than any other show - ever wonder where the motivation for mobiles came from? ever noticed the similarity between mobile (Cell) phones and the old communicators used in the original series?

I like Star Trek original and Next Generation. I'm not really a sci-fi person, but they are fun.

I have enjoyed all of the Star Trek TV shows but, I haven't cared for the movies.

i agree..i love sci-fi stuff, but despise star trek. they shoulda just let it end after the first movie or two instead of spawning the 5 or 6 spinoff t.v. versions and later movies..

In its time (mid-'60s) the original was groundbreaking...now it's more on a camp level...I thought TNG was far better, liked DS9 and for the most part Voyager...hated Enterprise...overall the films are better than the shows were...actually, First Contact is a pretty good film, which works on a number of levels...the rest go from awful to good...overall I'd say they're decent, but I wouldn't bother going out of my way to watch any of them

Actually....
DS9 was an incredible series (save most of the first season and a good portion of the last). One hell of a story arc.
I like the majority of TNG....though some of it is awful.
Voyager blows.
Enterprise does too.
I like the original series for the whole nostalgia aspect.
Movies......dug II, IV, First Contact, and to a certain extent, Nemesis.
You are right....a lot of it sucks....but there is certainly some good stuff as well.

Actually that's how I feel about "reality" shows. I enjoy Star Trek. The nice thing for you though, is that you don't HAVE to watch. Why does it upset you so?
