It doesn't make sense to me! How is it done, is it the way it's planted? Do they use some type of dye? This question is always on my mind!

They use rollers..Kind of like a vacuum on carpet. they have different size rollers to create the patterns.

The grass heights are the same. The effect is created by the direction the grass is cut and how the light hits off of it.

no, its actually the height of the grass, the groundskeepers mow the patterns in by using different blade heights

Probably they use a special dye cuz when i went to fenway the grass looked jus like regular grass.........it's definately dye
