Guinea pigs can get most of their water from the vegetable they eat to get the vitamin "C" they need. make sure he has plenty of veg and he should be allright.
Cauliflower is one of the best for vit C as it has 4 times more than apples.
Also change the bedding from wood shaving to shredded paper as he will not get splinters stuck in his mouth. Buy an office shredder and use all your junk mail and wast paper from your computer printer init wirks out cheaper in the end.

He's probably sore still. Keep trying with the syringe, but if it keeps up for long, check with your veterinarian.
