Afghans, once fought the invading Russian army, and USA supported the Afghans and called them Mujahadeen(Holy Warriors), now the same Afghans are called insurgents. Why media has changed the term from Mujahadeen(holy warriors) to insurgents to describe the same group of people. If someday our children had to fight here in USA against the invading armies, will they be called insurgents or terrorists. The media and its false journalism is not helping in any way the prospects of peace in this world.

it's all in how the media and the government want to spin it. This happens everywhere. You know, it all depends on what team they are playing for. If you are on my team, then you are hard-charging, fierce, righteous, or maybe even holy. But if you are the enemy, then you are a terrorist, insurgent..you get the point.
it's all a matter of perspective.

The media does play its part, but this language is coming from other sources. It's just how the game is played, and where things stand when the lines are drawn (or re-drawn).

Absolutely right- but this is government spin supported by some of the media.
In the 1980s, when the mujahadeen insurgents in Afghanistan were fighting the russian supported communist government,
many young men went from Saudi Arabia and Egypt to join the fight.
one of these men was called Osama bin Laden who set up a training camp called ALQaeda (the base) and, with the help of the military intelligence services of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, USA and UK trained these men to become terrorists.
The Reagan government also supplied these people with weapons including Stinger sams with which they shot down many aircraft. Some of these missiles are still unaccounted for.
The mujahadeen were successful and they formed the taliban government under strict sharia law when the Russians left in 1989.
The Afghans forced the arabs to leave and they dispersed to various parts of the world including Europe and the USA.
So this is the situation we find ourselves in now with a network of highly trained terrorists thanks to the policies of previous western governments which has changed its focus onto the imperialistic ambitions of the USA in the Middle East
They are driven by extreme islamic beliefs and their immediate ambition is to drive all the infidels from all muslim countries and re-establish the Caliphate.
The war in Iraq has given a huge boost to these people as they see it as confirmation of the correctness of their policies.
They can now say to the muslim world - we told you so.

Many FOXed human beings believe that in hardship-free words Rupert words ought to correctly be used to describe some thing. yet in accordance to the Patriot Act definition of Terrorist the AlQaida gunmen would not formally be terrorist till once they brought about someone to be uncomfortable. So an unknown AlQaieda militant ought to correctly be a gunman till fake reported him making individuals fearful and uncomfortable. At that aspect he's a terrorist. SO FOX is to blame for coming up terror. go crew red go

Whatever your opinion is, i do not understand why you are blaming the media: It is not media's responsibility to make history or to coin terms.
Media's job is to report reality. If the politicians and army personnel call the people insurgents and terrorists, that what a reporter will put in his article. He can not editorialize and say well the president said terrorists, but we here in Times believe they are freedom fighters. Media is our society, it is us. It reflects the majority of citizens, in subject and style it is what we are.
