Depends on the data,
speeds:
1. Bluetooth: 10 MBPS.
2. Wireless: 55-110 MBPS.
3. Wired (Cat6): 100-1000 MBPS.
Sorted from the less cost:
1. Bluetooh:
2. Cables(Wired)
3. Wireless.
Thus I think if you say small data, and small area, bluetooth is perfect for you

LAN is the first choice, as local networks are Fast, reliable and data can be transferred easily. With Blue tooth or Wireless (WAN) the data transfer rate would be slow (still depends upon your computer configuration) and also there are chances of Virus attacks or Hacking, if it is not disabled properly. For fast and reliable transfer, you can use windows messenger, as it comes with built in Virus scan/spam filter.
Hope this helps!!

LAN of course. Bluetooth is way too slow; but for convenience on the go, Bluetooth is quite okay.

Assalam-o-Alaikum!
LANs are fast compared to Bluetooths, but they require some knowledge and time to install...
Since you are concerned with limited data, Bluetooth network is an ideal choice and will require a minute or two to install...

I think you should go with a direct cable connection. It is much simpler, more reliable, and much more secure. Did I mention cost effective? This is why we still have land based phones, instead of a totally wireless society! I assume you've ruled out
transfering files via disk. God forbid we might actually have to click on eject CD and carry it all the way over to the other computer and insert it!
