Dell=90 Day Warranty and cheaply made=Don't buy.
Sony=I had 2 vaio's, both of them refused to boot up after 3-6 months of use due to electrical problems, after that they spent more time at sony then they did my house. Problem after problem occurred until warranty ran out=Don't buy.
Acer= Cheap, and cheaply made=Don't Buy.
Compaq/HP=1 Year Warranty, Good Quality, Ok Customer Service, Good Deals. Used by a lot of corporations (such as Coca Cola.) And I'm typing on a Compaq Presario R4000. No complaints. Best friend has an HP equivilent and loves it.
Macintosh=Good quality, good Customer Service. O.S. needs to be updated frequently, machines are pricey.=Buy.
