i can say from experience no more than five years!it sucks to have an older guy and you having to age with them or vice vera,if it is to much of an age gap there will be so many problems and you will never be on the same page, not only will you guys be in a age gap but anyone that you have a relationship outside of the relationship will too like your friends ;say you are twenty and his friends are 33 there is so much of a difference there, everything would just be so complicated so if you can help it stay within the 5 year difference.good luck

Although in olden times it was said that it was 3 years with the man being the older of the two, I do genealogy and I can tell you that was not always the case.

Once divorce became popular the age difference didn't matter anymore. And, these days its difficult enough to find someone so don't let age stand in your way.

I think that people of legal age should be able to marry whoever they like. 18 year old girl marries 90 year old man...not so far fetched. The differences in the generations will probably prevent cases like this.

Age is doesn't matter. What matter is where you can find more comfortable with the person. You must have a conviction to love him or her whether older or younger than you.

Age should not be a factor in it , unless they are minors. I am 17 years older then my husband, and it doesn't bother me any.

it really shouldn't matter as long as the couple are happy and in love. my fiance and i are two years apart (he's older). it works for us. my mom re-married a man who is 8 years younger. as long as you both are happy is whats important.
