colts lost every preseason game last year and they had a great season even though they didnt win super bowl

I don't know...but I do know that my Panthers tend to do alright or great in the season if they have a good preseason....the thing is it gives the players confidence and gives the QB an idea of where his team is at offensively so he knows what he can do and what not to do.
Alternatively, if a team does bad, perhaps they learn from mistakes and make changes that make them excell in the regular season...one way or another...the preseason is important, despite it being boring to watch backups.
If you watched the Arizona vs Pittsburgh game, you saw that Bryant Johnson is going to be a great player in the regular season to back up Boldin and Fitzgerald...so it's good for giving players their place in the offense....a sort of hidden tallent....

well i dont know exactly but new england lost every one of there preseason games the year they beat the eagles in the superbowl. so you cant go by preseason at all.
