I'm celebrating my 21st with some friends in Vegas in June. KEEPING IN MIND that we don't want to go to any strip clubs, hire any escorts, or get married, where are some good places to check out for:

- Good live music
- Good drinks
- Good food
- Good shows (we will be checking out Penn & Teller for certain)
- Good blackjack and poker tables

Also, is there anywhere we should work to avoid?

We're also looking for things to do other than gambling during the day. Maybe a good spa for the girly-types who are accompanying me?

- Good live music= House of Blues, at the Mandalay Bay
- Good drinks= Every casino... pretty much equal
- Good food= that depends on what you are looking for, Ceasars Palace has some good places to get a bite but it'll bite out of your wallet also. Wolfgang Puck has a place in the Ceasars Palace Forum Shoppes, it was great!
- Good shows (we will be checking out Penn & Teller for certain)= I cannot think of the name but there is an Adult oriented hypnotist show that is supposed to be hilarious. Also, George Wallace is a great comedian.
- Good blackjack and poker tables= All pretty much equal

Also, is there anywhere we should work to avoid= Casino Royale is a joke, Slots O fun takes forever to get paid out on slots and same goes for the Riviera.

If you plan on doing a bit of gambling then get the Harrahs club card.. it works at 5 or 6 casinos and at least you will earn comps on what you lose in gambling!!! Just try to stick to gambling at the casinos on the card.

Good live music, drinks, AND food: Margaritaville at Flamingo - a fun, party atmosphere, and I love the tropical beach theme. Try get into the main room because there are multiple levels and an outdoor patio. If you like rockin' country, check out Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill at Harrah's. The band was great, the food's country-style, and drinks keep coming. I wouldn't see Penn & Teller myself, but Legends in Concert at the Imperial Palace was great; I'd go again. Places to avoid: Excalibur and Circus Circus (too many kids and kid atmosphere), and the old places that have gotten very shabby - Sahara, Riviera, Stardust, Aladdin.

vegas is great! i suggest you go sometime in the spring, because it is 105-110 in the shade during the summer! it is almost UNBEARABLE! the bilagio is great! it is very upscale & gorgeous to boot! i suggest staying away from the mirage. the air conditionar was broken when we visited, the rooms were mediocre & it was just an overall not good experience. i suggest seeing a little bit of comedy when you are down there. they have different stand up comics like the guy from the king of queens perform. make sure you see the eiffel tower, fountains, etc. if you plan on seeing cirque, definitely call early enough to reserve tickets & be prepared to pay a bit of a hefty price for them. a few weeks ago when i was down there we saw cirque, & they were doing all of the beatles music, it was fantastic! the spas are also fantastic so i highly suggest visiting some! hit up the casinos, it is a must when you are in vegas! but don't even bother leaving the strip. besides the strip, it is all desert around it. have fun!!
