I was asked by an elderly friend who has perchased some and the only name she gave me was Rhodanthe. Can anyone help?

Try the site below. The main thing to remember is that this species (Rhodanthe chlorocephala) is an annual and will die off at the end of the growing season. So, your friend shouldn't harvest *all* the flowers (which will last for a long time dried ... these are also called "everlastings" in Australia). Seeds should form in the heads (unless insects get in and eat them!) and these can be saved for the next season and sown.

I see that this species has become naturalized in California [second link] ... so has US weed potential (but probably less outside Ca which has a so-called "Mediterranean" climate -- same as Western Australia where the species comes from).
