A couple of useful tactics you can use to get a lower rate. 1.) Don't make a reservation, just show up and see if they have anything, ask to see the room, the act unimpressed, see if they budge. 2.) Show a AAA membership, that usually gets 5-10% off
3.) See if they will give you anything for taking a smoking room (if you can stand the smell). Otherwise, there is a Best Value Inn and a Days Inn there. Those hotels usually run $50-75 per night. Have fun
