I think BOTH... gay and straight. Especially the straight guys who live in NYC.
I love Patti LuPone. For everyone who doesnt know her she is an American singer and actress. She won a Tony Award for Evita in 1980. She also landed the role of Reno Sweeney in the Broadway revival of "Anything Goes" which she won the Drama Desk Award from Best Actress in the Musical in 1987 ( I think??).
She originated the role of Fantine in Les Miserables.
I was fortunate to see her performed few months ago on Broadway for the musical revival of Sweeney Todd, She played Mrs. Lovett. The same role Angela Lansbury originated.
She is one of my fave broadway divas. Oh my gawd.... I'm so gay!!! hahahaha

I`d say Gays - I`ve seen her on TV and she sucks and is way over the top a la Judy Garland (I`m straight) ,surely America must have had better singers to open shows there? Here in the UK we have really talented female vocalists like Ruthie Henshall - THE best Fantine from Les Miserables ever ,Elaine Paige (Evita ,Cats,Chess etc.) and Sarah Brightman (The Phantom Of The Opera).
OK I`ll give you Lea Salonga - her I love - beautiful AND talented ,THE ultimate Eponine and awesome in Miss Saigon.

Its an ignorant question. Everyone is an individual. Some straight people will like her (whoever she is), some won't, same with gays.

I don't understand this question. I'm straight and I've always like her, but what's the connection with gay people?
