I think about that often,
as music is so important
in my life. At the same time
I think of the hearing impaired,
and what this void must mean
to them. My hope, which seems
to be not so far fetched, is
that they can someday, somehow,
listen/feel music and the voice of
their loved ones with the help
of computers and wave sounds
and the likes.
Here's looking at that day!

World without music is like mathematics without the four symbols representing four distinct activities like addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. The underlying principle of the entire universe is HARMONY and the secret of music is harmony. The basic seven sounds are the same in the West and the East. At least, at this point the twin meet. Both in the Western classical music and the Indian classical music the seven basic notes of music are same; hence the language of music is universal. In ancient vedic days the Shama Veda which is more than 12 thousand years old deals with the subject. It is said that the basic notes are from the premordial cosmic sound Oum which is produced in the human body and resonates with out striking with another surface or body in the 'Anahata' Chakra. It is also believed that the vowels have originated from the Cosmic Time called Lord Shiva while dancing in 'Nataraja' form from his 'Damburu'.
So, basically we can not conceive of the universe with out the sound energy which is sought to be justified by the Big Bang Theory; and the music is only an evolutionary expansion of the Oum which is the beginning and the end of the universe.

I was thinking about something like this earlier today. An older woman that still had a beautiful voice was singing live on local radio, and it reminded me of being in Mexico, when women would just start singing in public. It sounded so good and made me realize how much we miss in this country by being so critical and up tight about everything that we hardly ever hear anyone singing in public, just because they feel like it.
So in that sense I thiink we are living without music.

Music is a form of expressing the soul, so I'm guessing in the place of music we would have poetry. But music is also used for entertainment purposes... Their would probably be no dance clubs... Just bars... Wwwweeeeaaaakkkk................................................. What would I listen to in my car?? People reciting poems??????

It'll be sad.
For me life would be over! My life depends on music!
just think, there's more than enough music for every mood you're in. sad, happy..etc..
No life without music.

i think it would be one quiet and freaky world. i mean, there is music everywhere, not only in the radio or t.v, but also in nature. i guess it would be like everybody in the world is deaf.
