The black roses that florists sell are dark burgundy, very dark red that looks like black. The roses are either a "Black magic" or Black Bacharach". These are big headed roses and open up into huge roses, and because they are in the red hue, some people do not take it to mean anything other than deep love. We have used these roses for weddings, and girls love these for corsages for proms to match their outfit. Some people order black roses to tease their friend for turning 40 - over the hill type of joke. If you need black roses, you have to order these in advance, can't get them same day like the other colored roses.

The Black Magic rose.
As a bud they look black, once opened... a very deep red. And the tips of the petals still have a black hue.
I had them for my wedding, I think they were flown in from Ecuador.

according to this article, NO. There are deep red roses that appear to be black but are not truly black...
in the second article, if you click on Deep Secret, that's the closest to black that I see on this page...

yes.. I bought some for my stepdaughter.. because she liked everything black.. I thought they were exotic.. then I found out that they actually meant something negative.. like death or something like that.. can't remember.. but my stepdaughter liked them.. so did I ... I thought they were pretty.. oh yeah.. they were also very expensive.. it really did almost kill me.. LOL .... I did feel bad about the meaning.. but.. she knew I did not mean it in that way... I really was trying to do something special for her.. we are very close now.. I am glad I bought them.. :)
