Apparently, there is like million meanings to this word...

When I was younger it had to do with a cigarette. If you were smoking and dragging too hard it created a long tip of like burned tobacco at the lit end. Someone would say, "hey, you are making that cig a hotbox."

I know, stupid but true. I just had to answer it. I haven't thought of that in 40 years!!

when I was a kid, we played "hotbox". I've also heard it called "pickle", but it was when you were like in a rundown in baseball or softball
