I realize it has been almost 30 years since I have had a hamster and he was a male.
Talk to the pet stores, many buy their pets local.
They maybe able to find you a breeder who will sell you a male.
You may also want to advertise in your local paper or flier in the wanted section.
Best wishes.
Hamsters are wonderful, but I need my sleep.

they sell male hamsters everywhere.. I have never heard of not being able to find them..
You put the male and female in the same cage and hopefully they get along and do their thing.. and then when you notice that the female is pregnant, you remove the male because the female will eat her babies if she has them and the male is in there, or if she is feeling scared or imposed on. I thing gestation period is like 4 weeks.. give or take.. and you can not touch the babies till after they have their eyes open and they are at least 2 weeks old.. the mother will kill and eat all the babies.. It isnt tme consuming or anything really but if you are doing it to sell.. not a huge profit.. you can only get like 2 or 3 bucks per hamster......... but they sure are cute and look like nakid lil piggies..

try petsmart, i bought a male hamster there before. and it's VERY time consuming, especially finding homes for the little guys. they have about 10-13 hamsters per litter and they grow FAST. I find that most people don't want hamsters as pets, even if you advertise them as FREE. you have to constantly clean the cage since there are so many of them. plus you need space for them. once they get to be a certain age, you have to be able to determine which are male and which are female, otherwise they may breed and create more hamsters. it's A LOT of work if you want to do this. I wish I hadn't bred mine now that I think about it.

Well i never heard of a store not selling both sexes of animas but there is a first time for evrything.

first of all the female hamster gose into heat evry 3 to 9 days if i remeber correctly . you put the male in if they fight she is not ready so take him out or she will kill him. after the mating it takes about 16 days for the babies to be born . make sure that you keep count becouse you need to change the bedding atleast 3 to 4 days before she gives birth and dont do a change after the babies are born. no be advice they can have upto 13 babies or more. If she eats one or 2 dont worry it;s natural either it died or it's defective or she just cant take care of the large litter.

as long as she dont eat all of them try not to touch them or disturb her becouse she will eat them if she feels threaten in any way or if they smell funny.

make sure she eats well and has good clean water evryday. there is a recipe i had before to wean them and is good for her to .

mix puppy wet food with oats and there regular food not alot just enough and once you see them start eating this and not nursing anymore start seperating them and be advise that even thuogh you might be able to leave maybe one dauther in one cage and 2 sisters in another you cannot mix boys and girls ever and you must seperate all boys.

so i advise you to make sure you have homes for atleast 10 hammies before you breed your hammy it will be alot easier and less stressfull on you. and you must have a seperate cage for dad hammy all alone.

so good luck have fun

you can get male hamsters in pet stores, around here its pretty hard to get females actually. the chain i work for does it regionally, you have to go about 2 hours away to get a female here.
