open case
find out where are your RAM memory sticks
remove it carefully
clean contacts at the bottom of the sticks
fix it back - press it firmly in the slots

that's it - your computer should start running like a horse as before

This will happen when one or more of the keys on your keyboard is stuck in the pushed down position. hold your keyboard at eye level to see which key it is,then with a small screw driver pop that key off and make sure it is clean then put it back on!
Also if there is a floppy disk in the "A" drive your screen will remain black with a little blinking light at the top left of your screen but it usually will give an error message and it doesn't beep. But a stuck key will continuously beep until you shut off the power or unstick the key!

Those are post beeps. That means that something is going bad or disconnected. Try reseating our memory and checking teh plugs for your keyboard and mouse. Beeps are better than error messages. Listen to the number of beeps and look up post error codes..

sounds like your hard drive has errors or else you need good anti virus ware on your computer that you are keeping up to date.
It should not have to be reformatted that often, maybe you have a bad hard drive.
