I think everyone should boycott all tabloids, that publish only lies. It only confuses the population and puts a strain of the lives of celebrities. Anyone agree?

I do not read tabloids, but my 16 year old niece and my 84 year old aunt do. I have glanced at a few just out of curiosity. Some have celebrity gossip, and I don't care about such trivial stuff. One my aunt had years ago said JFK and Lee Harvey Oswald were still alive. That is bad enough, but, then, it had an article by someone who said he was born on Venus 850 years ago and came here to spy on us. All newspapers and magazines print lies, so what can one expect from rags? Someone who says tabloids do not lie is blind. The respected New York Times has printed lies to support its political opinions, and sadly, all too many people believe anything they read in newspapers or magazines or hear on TV. Many people cannot think for themselves, so they mindlessly repeat lies from news media. I used to subscribe to PLAYBOY, but its politics is offensive, and I have seen many lies and errors in it...e.g. an article about martial arts said Wing Chun has high kicks. I studied that Chinese style and know that it has only low kicks. I can see how the author probably made such an error, but he is not qualified to write articles about martial arts.

No matter what anyone thinks of tabloids they are not at all lies. Think about it why would they go to such lengths such as hiding behind trash cans , or following celebs and how do the know where they would be.Also, why won't these celebs sue for damages. I for one don't like there tactics but I do believe that celebs use the news outlets to their advantage to stay in the public eye.
We can not blame the tabloids for the public infatuation with celebs. Due to the fact millions of people purchase these rags every week tells me that the public are the ones with the low morals. As the strain this may put on the celebs this goes along with the territory .However, they have the means to escape from the perils of being a celebrity.

I think tabloids are more damaging to "common people" than to the whiny celebrities they're always badmouthing. Basically, they serve the purpose of keeping the poor and screwed from rising up and demanding change by sending the message, "See, rich people are miserable! You're better off with nothing!" Hogwash! We all have the same family, addiction, and romantic problems. Being rich and famous may make these problems more public, but it also gives you a lot more options for getting over them.

In my opinions tabloids are absolute garbage. They print deliberate mistruths and distortions and are more concerned about sensationalism than responsible journalism.

The policy of tabloids seems to be - don't let the truth get in the way of a good story.

if i were a celebbeing stalked by the paparazzii or the tabloids i would hire a private invesigator to get a lot of dirt of a tabloid editor or photographer and have their bad pictures and personal lives put out there.

I think they are fun and harmless to a point. It's kinda cool to see celebs fave shopping places or what car they like, but there is harm when they are hiding out side their house, or following their kids, family should be separate from "Hollywood" parties ans promo events.
