65% of all NHL goals are scored on the low Blocker, or stick, side. No matter what move you make, a deke, between you legs or bringing a deke short and pushing away from you body and into the goal you'll want a good angle. If you are coming straight at the goalie he'll have a perfect angle at you and the puck. If you keep your body up to middle, but the puck up align with the post the goalie Will play the puck if he doesn't shoot. There are 4 ways to make the angle of a goalie better for you on a breakaway or shootout, going wide to the right, wide left, up the middle with the puck at the post or go wide and cut over to the other side halfway to the goal.

most players have a set plan or think about this situation long before it happens. But when it happens your not sure what to do. Depends on each situation, the goalie's position in the net, how close the defenseman is to you. But to good spots to shoots are between the legs because the goalie tryies to cover more net by opening his legs, and the stick side because there could be a rebound on this side. The gloves side when caught there is not rebound. Good luck

I'm with Tex. My chances of lifting the puck exactly where I want it are neh, and I don't want to waste a breakaway, so depending on the goalie I'll come center or left side, holding it left side and then move right until five hole opens up and flick it in.

This doesn't work on experienced goalies, but against the rec goalies at my level, I get this shot in all the time.

Start on one side of the net...goalie hugs the post...
move across the towards the other side of the net...
goalie will either go butterlfy, go 5-hole, or
goalie tries to poke check, deke and go backhand or...
goalie dive across the net, slide the puck underneath...

then you celebrate like you've scored a touchdown....

Deke. Go forehand to back and drag the goalie's legs apart, and put the puck through the 5 hole

my move would be to wait till just the right moment, dive down on my stomach, extend my stick as far as i can, and pray that i poke checked the puck away from the skater. But if i would of been a skater how about that move that Jussi Jokinen(Dallas Stars) does.

i usually pull a deke bc my shot is not very accurate, so i go hard in and then cut right across the crease pretending to go for the corner that i am cutting to but actually stuffing it in the nearest post
