The bisexual ppl that I have discussed this with state that for them it is about the person not the gender. To them it is that simple.

Bisexual people are born bi too, just like straight people are born straight and lesbian/gay people are born lesbian/gay. It might take some time to figure out that you are bi, but if you truely are then you know.
Bisexuals are not confused, not anymore then lesbian, gay, or straight people are. That is a bi myth. Bisexuals do not have a choice. They are attracted to both girls and guys. That doesn't have anything to do with being faithful in a relationship though, being loyal is a choice everyone makes or doesn't make.
Bisexual people are always going to be attracted to both sexes. An example being that if a bi girl falls in love and marries a man, she doesn't turn straight, she is still bisexual. Same thing if she falls in love with another girl, she does not turn into a lesbian, she is still bi. You don't "turn" into something else, you are born with those feelings.
Don't confuse bisexuals with being bi-curious (which just means you're curious) because they are two very different things.

Think of a line graph. This graph represents who we are attracted to/who we love. If Gay is at one end, and Straight on the other, then Bi is in the middle. People can find themselves on the line somewhere. I happen to be Straight, so I would be at that end.
To me, someone who is Bi happens to be open about who they love. They love beyond the gender. This is not about who is right and who is wrong. Who is going to hell, who is not, etc. This is simply about who we love. There is no right or wrong about who we love.

Trust me if someone Bi could decide to be who they want to be I be straight. I have struggles with this most of my life and I've known some who have tried to end their lives over this so we are born the way we are I feel...

Bisexuals are conffused people. They dont know what they want and could be unstable. So, NO... Scientific studies would constantly change just like their orientations
