I think voodoo barely qualifies as a religion. Although fascinating, it has no real doctrine of faith. More of an arrangement of superstitions and practices. Obviously it exists and I think the mind can convince someone into believing things. I would assume that certain aspects of voodoo can be explained scientifically.

As you can tell, I don't 'believe' in organized religion because belief structures cause problems. Having said that, I would be more apt to believe in voodoo or pagan based practices then say Catholicism (which is what I was born into)

Yes, Voodoo or Voudoun is a religious practice not just spells and chants. It is an established religion. Yes to spells also. Spells are just a form of prayer. Prayer is an invocation to god while spells are invocations to the selected Deity of pagans. No real difference.

Of course I do. I believe they do because I'm a witch. Witchcraft may sound awkward for others because they haven't seen it before. It can be very difficult to believe, but it's true.

Anyone can do witchcraft/voodoo. You need plenty of concentration. It's similar to yoga. You need to know what you're doing and need to know when to do it. I'm more of a spell person. There's all kinds of magic. Some spells involve candles, others involve things such as a potion or a chant. Simple things are easier to believe, but this one isn't all easy.

I believe my intention creates the possibility for what I want to manifest. To extend that, to develop an work with that basic ability, one can follow suit to aim malintent to others. Voodoo is especially know for its spells, as is wicca.. It all goes back to simple intention...
Add to this the scientific fact that particles communicate on a subatomic level.... Consider how you 'know' some things some times. Yes, I believe in these things, but I also believe that american society as a whole is loosing its capacity to harness these things.

yes, very much so...i took a class at the local community college called Anthropology: Magick, witchcraft, and religion...this was the best, and most informative class I'll ever take...it covered voodoo and i am my own witness as to belief in spells.

Voudon is a valid religion whose roots go back to Africa, Native America, and Catholicism. Its practicitioners are as devout and perhaps more so than any other religion.

Spells are the attempt of the magickian or invoker to change reality under their will. The difference in "black magick" and "white magick" is the intent. A magickian who tries to push against the Universe, to change how things are outside of him/herself is working "black magick." Those who work with the Universe, to contact the angelic beings, to protect and to make themselves fitting vessels for The Light are practicing what is called "white magick."

Truly the only thing one can change is themselves. To pray to God for anything besides acceptance is a form of hubris (prideful in thinking that one knows more than God what is best.)

I know those who pray (a form of spell, afterall) for rain and then are drowned in the flood.

Voodoo spells and all the magic arts and occult powers are true,BUT you have to enter in to demon worship to gain them! And to do this you must sell your soul! Are you ready for that???I think not.

It can only affect you if you believe it or ponder on it. My ____ use to tell me this and I was reminded by my good friend to not believe it b/c it can only be real if you let those evil, fearful thoughts in your mind. I told_____ that they could do all they wanted to me and that I knew that they were insane and that God was on my side. Don't fall for that sick crap either.
