having sex with anyone anytime you want

To me it is no relationship. A relationship is being committed to one person. An open relationship means you can do whatever you want with whoever you want and still have a f**k buddy that you can always turn to when you need some. If you are in an open relationship hopefully the person has since enough to use protection and doesn't give you a nice little dose of death.

Best of luck.

That can be taken in many ways. Some people might say that it means being liberal and having sex with others while still having a relationship with your partner. To me it means communicating with your partner. My boyfriend and I are very open and honest about how we feel when we discuss things. We can say what we want without worrying that it might hurt either of us. If we feel hurt then we talk about it openly and be fine later. When you have an open relationship, you feel comfortable all the time. So be open and honest always cause that is the way to be! We are only with each other by the way, we don't want other people.

A relationship in which two people agree that they want to be together, but can't exactly promise that they won't see other people too. Basically, to have it all: a significant other and the freedom to hook up with other people. Common during college for many post-high school relationships.

e.g.
"Are you still with Joe?"
"Well, we're in a open relationship now. And it's don't ask, don't tell."
"Are you okay with that?"
"You know, it IS college, and there are so many cute guys out there..."

There is no such. Men and Women want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to be able to have sex with whom ever and still have someone to come home too. When someone says they want to have an open relationship, this usually means free *** when they want it, and if something doesn't go right with the other person they are seeing, they run back to the one they have the open relationship with.

Example. Me and Tahj have a open relationship. He dates Mimi and I go on dates with whom ever. When Tahjs' fling with Mimi ain't workin, he will try and pull the lets be together again , no more open relationship card untill he sees another girl he wants to f***.

Where you and the one you're dating can see other people while still dating each other. I think it could work out but in reality jealousy will get in the way of it and most people don't like to share their partners either. So I think it's being with someone without a commitment.

means one that is not monogamous. In other words, you are both supposed to be able to see other people. But the the devil is always in the details.
