i feel sorry for the homeless people who are trying their best to et a job, and live a good life. if they are homeless because they were on drugs, got fired, and couldn't support getting a place and having a family, then that is their problem. however, it they are truly great people who just can't find a job, i feel very bad for them.
once there was this one girl with 2 daughters that were like 2 and 4.. i felt sooo bad. it was freezing cold too. :( another time there was a mentally challenged person. :(

It breaks my heart when I see homeless people. One year me and some of my family went to Atlantic City and we decided to cut through a small park to save time in going to a restaurant. As we were walking we came upon a woman and her three children sleeping and wrapped in blankets on the ground. I was beside myself with upsetness. I could not eat and I have never forgotten that night. I wish we would have stopped and given her money or something. I am sorry we didn't and it wasn't because I didn't care or anything, I guess I was just so caught off guard and in disbelief that I had witnessed this. I have had many come up to me and ask for money and I gladly do it. Some people say we shouldn't give them money because they are only going to buy liquor or drugs, but I have to do what is right in my heart and if they misuse the money then they will have to answer to God for that. God bless you.

Some homeless people are just totally down on their luck. the homeless people around here, however, are too lazy to work, too lazy to bathe and too involved with drugs and alcohol to care. It has go to the point that the homeless shelter refuses service to those who are twacked out or totally drunk. I live in a town of 50,000 people and the homeless shelter provide shelter for up to 2750 people. They can get a job and become decent citizens again but refuse to because the drug use they encounter has got WAY TOO OUT OF HAND. Being homeless for some is a choice. But for others it is not. For those WHO got slapped in the face with tough time, I say here is what I can do to help. But for the ones who choose to be, I say, GET A JOB!

There are many reasons why people are homeless, if you plan on helping them it's good to go in with some perspective and to have a plan. Many are very kind and considerate people, many are sexual offenders, theives and users, some will take advantage of you, some will take only when given to, a few wont receive at all. Talk to someone who has some experience and find out what the best approach is, many people are trying to show love, it's just how you do that is what's important.

More than 75% of the homeless people in this country have mental health issues. The government closed most of the mental hospitals in majors cities and dumped this people onto the streets to hurt us or themselves.
Homelessness is a big fat blemish on our country and we should be ashamed. We should take some of our "war" money and help these people

It is sad that people have to live on the streets. Most of the time, the people just can't do for themselves due to mental illness or cognitive disabilities. Our world is very tough and it is very hard for many families to get work, a home, etc. I think it is tragic that people don't have a private place to rest and food to eat.

I have been alone struggling all my life to make ends meet. I have been kicked to the ground by "life" but was fortunate enough to peel myself off the pavement and move on. Live is difficult and I definitely feel for these people because during life, there may be trauma and if they don't have family or friends to help them, everything can be lost by a blink of an eye.

"Homeless In Hollywood"
(Emma Hutchinson)
I’m homeless in Hollywood
I’ve been waiting all this time
For someone to discover me
And make that million mine
But I haven’t got a dime
I’m homeless in Hollywood
I’ve pawned everything I own
Don’t you know the desert’s cold at night
And dreams don’t keep you warm
When you’re sitting on the sidewalk lonely and cold
I had some dreams a long, long time ago
But now they’re gone, where did they go?
I don’t know
Homeless in Hollywood, this ain’t 90210
I got no place to go
Homeless in Hollywood, this ain’t 90210
I got no place to go
I’m homeless in Hollywood
And the tourists pass me by
They don’t want my photograph
I wonder why?!
The stars are in their eyes
I had some dreams a long, long time ago
But now they’re gone, where did they go?
I don’t know
I’m homeless in Hollywood
Where a star’s born every day
I hope they don’t discover me
When they’re taking out the trash some day
Taking the garbage away
Homeless in Hollywood, this ain’t 90210
I got no place to go
Homeless in Hollywood, this ain’t 90210
I got no place to go

I think it is really sad. I pray for them all the time. If I can buy them something to eat or drink I do. I have been instilling this in my boys too.
The bible does say there will always be poverty though. We are to be kind to others and treat them as we ourselves would like to be treated.
