We are seriously thinking of selling up in the U K and moving to Lanzarotte one of the smaller Canary Islands. We have been over there about 22 times so far, and once spent 3 months on the Island just to see if it was a place we could settle. I firmly believe that if you are going to emigrate then the best thing to do is try it for a while first, get out of the holiday mentality and live with the locals. It worked out fine and we hope to move just after my husband retires in 3yrs time.

In a big old fashioned house, on a SAFE cliff top looking out to sea. With a camomile lawn! Where I can invite all my friends to visit. A nice gentle path down to the small cove, with a sandy beach below, where I would have a beach hut, to make cups of tea and sit and read and paint . And watch my grandchildren play and search for crabs and starfish in the rock pools, BLISS!

Country cottage with 3 or 4 acres of ground so that I can keep a couple of horses, have room for my dogs, space to keep chickens & ducks & goats. Far enough away from a city to be rural but close enough to be handy in emergencies etc.

I'd love to live in Spain or one of the balearic islands.

Loved the time I've spent over there and they seem to get everything so right! I mean, siesta's when its at its hottest and working when its cooler. How goods that?
