Regardless of who you are and what you have become and who or what you do, there is only one person who can change it for better or worse. Focus on yourself and not anyone Else's criticism or drama. I realized that when I think and be me that I can get a lot further than relying on others. Being independent is the most valuable thing I have learned so far!

We live this life forward but understand it backward.

This really has helped me in times of trouble and distress over how things are at this very moment.

To amplify this point: I predict in maybe ten years there will be a McDonalds in Teheran and Kabul. I remember just a bit about World War II (my father fought in it) and we were horrible enemies with Japan. We dropped two weapons of mass destruction on them. And now in most major Japanese cities there is a McDonalds. Guess that it is coming soon in Vietnam (where I fought). Those who used to be our bitter enemies are now our friends. No way to understand that then.

Things happen and we integrate them into our lives. Later on we see how it all fit together. Seems like that old hymn "Further Along We'll Know All About It."

Not to sweat the small stuff and to let things go. Far to much energy is spent worrying about things you cannot change especially things in the past.

And that kindness is the most important thing I can do.

Lesson 1: Life is short, so enjoy it.
Lesson 2: Be as selfless as possible.
Lesson 3: Never think of yourself as better than anyone else, because we all have flaws.
Lesson 4: Be careful who you trust.
Lesson 5: Respect men and women of all colours, religions, shapes, sizes, and ages.

hmm...good question!

DTA...people say it all the time but dont trust anybody!!!

Even with that in mind, you have to give a little to get a little...so trust is a great factor in relationships!

I think the most important thing I've learned is that even the closest person to you can hurt you, deceive you....so keep a little of you, for you, if u get what i mean! like your dreams, integrity, self esteem...all belongs to you!

Democracy does not exist here, it is a fraud. Good citizenship is a total waste of time, it counts for nothing, it is not appreciated, it accomplishes nothing, don't waste your time with it. The key to success is sliding by with as little work as possible, like Bush, and blame everybody else when you screw up.
