Hmmm, I'd give it to the next annoying human you see.
But you're really lucky to have a wife. There aren't many penguin ladies outside the Antarctic so us ex-patriot penguins are kind of stuck.

being a woman, i might tell you that (depending on your wifes personality and you) she is trying to be cute unless she is dead serious? either way i WOULD NOT take it back. when someone gives you a gift, especially your wife, and you take it back its kind of like a bit of resentment feeling they get, like geez, i was just trying to be nice/funny/ cuz i know you and i thought youd get a kick out of it...... even if you hate it, keep it, even if it is tucked in the back of the closet. you can even wear it on odd days at the house, etc. if you are emarrased of it, no one will see you except for your family, so who cares?
