Yes, kids should walk up hills to get to their buses. It's great exercise. Kids don't get much exercise in school these days. The PE classes are shortened and recess are either cut out of some schools or shortened. Kids just sit in class most of the day. Many kids go home and play computer games or watch tv. So, this might be the only exercise a kid gets a day - walk up that hill!

I think kids should walk 5 miles up hill bothways in the snow in order to get to school so they can tell their grandkids.
On a more serious note I think that shouldn't be a factor in determining where the bus stops should be located. Bus stops should be put in areas that are most accessable to the most students, and in areas that shorten the length of the bus trip.
If a kid is complaining about walking up hill he need to get the exersize anyway.

Yes, if the bus is at the top of the hill you have to walk to it. It's good exercise and if there was a good reason why you should not walk up the hill, your mom would not let you.

If the child is capable of walking up that hill to get to the bus--why not? Kids don't get enough exercise anyway. Plus--when he gets dropped off at the end of the day, he is walking DOWN the hill. :)

Tell your son about the hills we as kids would walk up, in the foot deep snow, or the pouring rain!! He's lucky he's getting on a bus after he walks up the hill. ;-D

I don't often remember things about my childhood, however i do recall that at that age i believed that being forced to walk over a mile to school up and down 4 hills was wrong.
Now that I'm a bit older, i see that being forced to walk over a mile to school up and down 4 hills was just wrong. Just plain wrong.

Whatever it takes to get to that bus! We pay our taxes and we have bus service so unless he wants to buy the gas he needs to get his little hinny out the door and up those hills.

Aw as long as he doesn't have any physical problems that make it difficult and as long as it's not soooo steep that he's sweating and panting then I think it's ok. But if it really bothers him so much...just drive him to his bus stop. Otherwise, it may be good exercise.

Yes, if that is where the bus is. And it is good exercise. You know that thing you do when you put one foot in front of the other.
