One of the pieces in my comic book collection I'm really proud of is my early collection of the original Transformers comic. It's never really been worth very much (except for number 1), but I was thinking with the movie coming out next year it seems to me like that would be the best possible time to try to sell them all.

All are in Mint or Near Mint condition, and I believe I have issues 1 through 64, or close to that, as well as a few imports of the British version and even a "3D comic" complete with original glasses. Also have complete 4 issue "Gi Joe and Transformers" lmtd series. Also, I should point out that Spiderman was a major character in issue 3 back when he was still host to the Venom symbiote (all black with white spider of front).

I'd appreciate it a few educated guesses as to what it might all be worth? I know it'd just be a guess, but throw out a few numbers, if you have any experience with this. Any input you could provide about ANY of it would be helpful.

Here are the values I could find. I looked for the GI Joe and Transformers limited series and your imports, but they aren't listed (the guide can't list everything) - Now Wizard's prices are only a guide, sometime you can get more and sometime you will have to settle for less. The issues that aren't listed are at or below cover price. If you are wondering why the last books are so much more expensive, it is usually because as a series starts to fail, comic book stores order less so less are printed making them more rare (whether anyone wants them or not can be different story completely :) - hope this helps

1: 16 ($)
2-5: 10
61-64: 6 (price when down from last month)
67: 10 (Jim lee cover (he is a big comic book artist)
71-77: 14
78-79: 22
80: 35

You may think about holding on to them before the movie starts; they usually re-lauch comics before big movies and the older issues spike in value (but not usually for very long)

i know exactly what you mean.....i had the marvel star wars series--and sold it b4 the second wave of star wars movies came out. prices vary so widely across the country--can't give you a true price range_BUT_ now or just b4 the movie comes out is the perfect time to sell. people are looking forward to getting things that were related to the film. So timing is always important!!
