Lol, my grandma is on the opposite side of the spectrum. She was Jewish (now she is atheist). My grandma always talked about how the Muslims were taking over the world, and trying to conquer the ''holy land'' that ''rightly belonged to the Jewish people''.
I have tried to talk some sense to her, which is what you could do. If that doesn't work, just take her for who she is. Don't believe any of the stuff that she says, and if she says something awkward like ''Hitler was right'' or stuff like that, just ignore her. Everyone has the right to their opinion. Just as she can believe that, however wierd it seems, you can believe what you want. She might have a slight mental problem, but it could be just of the way she was raised that she believes what she believes. I mean, 200 years ago, it would be heresy if one considered a black as equal (not saying that you should consider anyone inferior). It's just the way people are raised most of the times.

Obviously you don't believe it to be true... Or you wouldn't have asked the question... If you want to understand what the mentality was in Germany that would lead to the acceptance of such ideas, you need to go back to World War One and the years between the wars. The unemployment, the world depression, the length of the first war and what they agreed to at the end of the war. Germans were looking for something to claim as their own... something to be proud of and back then it was something like the middle east is now...People don't care about others as long as it makes them feel good about themselves. They're willing to ignore and look past the obvious.... Yes it is a sick phylosophy but the times dictated it. Later your grandfather would have to own up to the greatest travesty ever projected on one group of humans by another and I guess he just wasn't able to except that... Sad huh! An even sader thing is that those same things that happen in the Hollicost are happening right now around the planet in the Sudan and North Korea and other places and we don't get involved in stopping them unless there is oil involved or we are attacked. We look past them as long as it doesn't effect us economically or we might have to sacrafice to stop it... However, don't get me wrong, this type of thing has to be done by the world community and not the US.

There's a lot of family issues going on... I am wondering how the hell did your grandma and grandpa get along if one doesn't like being jewish and the other hates all others but Jews...

It is all about you and how you feel, dont you think? I dont have nothing against jewish and germans, the problem is Hitler. But if you are confortable with your grandfather is ok, and if you are agree with your grandmother, it is ok too but just have care about the people you are sharing time, they wont ne so nice.
