I have a speech about poverty in two days. My voice is extremely soft, I stutter when I'm nervous and I'm not a fluent speaker.
What methods should I use, what is the dos and donts, what can't I eat.
My college admission may depend on this. Please help me

Pick one person to focus on and try to make believe that you are having a conversation with that person.
Slow down when you talk, REMEMBER to raise your voice and write notes on a note card (use several with one key point on each one).
Hang in there-- you can get through this!!

I used to do competitive public speaking when I was in school. Never look at the people. Pick a point in the back of the room that is in the direction of your audience, but above their heads. In all the speeches I gave, I couldn't even tell you how many people were there, and I never saw a judges face.

The absolute best way to prepare for a speech is simply to practice it. Say it to yourself when you are doing other things. Say it in front of a mirror. Line up your throw pillows on the couch and pretend they are the audience. Give them your speech and if they hate it knock the stuffing out of them! Practice in front of your family, relatives, and friends. Ask your neighbor if they will listen and give you feedback. By the time you actually have to give the speech you will have said it so many times it will be a piece of cake for you to deliver it.
Good luck!

First of all... do you believe in what you are speaking on....then live it out.... go over and over the speech until until it becomes part of you... you will build your confidence, practise in front of a mirror, watch your body language, have friends listen to you and therefore with that, you will speak with conviction and make what your speaking on a reality to those listening.... eat things that won't upset your stomach, bring water with you.... they will understand that everyone that comes in.... is always a little nervious.... so just relax and give it your best.

Eat light, and lay off the dairy.
That's the only tip I can really give you; I also have a really hard time speaking in public.
