for someone in a faraway town to find it and send you a letter back? Have you ever done this? If so, what kind of results did you get?

Balloons With Notes Inside

In a "psi test" I conducted (long time ago), we sent a large helium-filled balloon with a message inside. The idea was to test for "remote viewing" and see if any of the "psychics" could track the balloon's progress in realtime. The balloon was followed by several hot air balloons with cameramen shooting the action. Back in the "lab" we had several monitors that provided a live feed and the "RVers" were asked to describe what they saw, again being filmed by cameras.

The upshot was that the balloon actually landed about 50 miles away from the "lab". We received the confirmation phone call that it had landed. The next task was for the "psychics" to determine the three-word message: "I've been found!".

Out of 20 psychics tested, only 2 were able to partially track the balloon and 3 got the message right: "I'm found." so close enough.

It was a very interesting experiment that I'd sure like to do again, but on a larger scale, maybe even global.

Damn, some of you are lucky to do such cool experiments during grade school. None of my teachers ever did anything like that.

Minkus, you should try putting your e-mail address (and not your home address) inside the balloon, and then see if someone responds with an e-mail message. I think it's definitely possible, depending on who picks it up. Some people are more curious than others, though, and it's those people who would take the time to write you a letter. Good luck with your experiment, if you decide to go through with it!

Yes. I did this when I was a child, and someone in the state of Ohio got the letter. (I lived in Illinois). It was a great experience. She owned a horse ranch and sent me photos and brochures of her business. She also sent me photos of the balloon and letter. I wouldn't do this today because I'd prefer not to get murdered by some crazy. But it does work!

Yes. It is great fun. As a class project we sent up postcards and asked the finders to return them. Got some from over 400 miles away. Also did a fundraiser asking people to return the envelope with a donation. Many from several states away did.

As many because it takes to fill some thing the dimensions of the Hindenburg airship. in simple terms be careful that an identical factor would not take place once you come back to dock someplace on the city with all those electric powered wires all around.

We did that in grade school---only we tied a plastic bag with a postcard inside it to the balloon ---NOT INSIDE THE BALLOON!

We got cards back from 100's of miles away!

=)
