Is it a right of passage for a man to own a nice watch?

I don't think it is necessarily a rite of passage for a man to own a nice watch, but it is an ego booster. It may be considered a rite of passage if a father gives his son the watch he received from his retirement though. And i don't think a man needs to own an expensive watch, although an expensive LOOKING watch is always a plus. :)

I wouldn't call it a rite of passage, but every man should have a nice watch to wear with dressy or dressy-casual clothes. The sports watch ain't gonna cut it.
