(After finishing works) is there any harm if I directly disconnect a flash memory/ mp3 player (connected through USB port) from the PC rightaway - without following - "safely remove hardware", "Stop device" these steps?? Please advise, thank you!

You can only safely remove a device if you use the Remove Hardware icon or shutdown the PC and take it out while it is off. But you can set an option were it is aways safe and you will not need to use the icon to safely remove it.

If you have not used the safely remove Hardware icon and your have it set so it does need to be safely removed it can cause serious damage to the drive or the files on it.

befor removing anything from the usb port's or Unplugging monitor/keyboard/ mouse put the pc off then you can remove if you have the pc on and you go Unplugging devices the PC (connected through USB port you may do damage to the pc or you maybe in for a shock
as for the monito if you Unplugging that while the pc is on you can damage it then your not get to see the desktop coz if something goes bang in your home its no good asking if Al Quieda is in town

You can, but you may get "Surge" from it.... The Safely/Remove Hardware was designed to prevent the usb from surging due to sudden disconnections, I recommend that you use the feature, your usb, and Flashdrives will thank you in the long run.. Good Luck

You can cause a surge/short and render the flash memory of such a device useless. Use the shut down procedure and you'll not have an issue.

you can get away with it most of the time, but you could cause the drive to lose it's format and make it unreadable, and you could cause your computer to freeze up, better to disconnect first
