Either you or your son need to be the parent and take control of what the family watches on television. It is extremely irresponsible to let children watch TV without, at least some discussion about what is real, what is fiction, and the difference between advertisements and programming.

Seriously, you may want to mention it to their school nurse or your doctor. Childhood mental illness is not to lightly pushed aside as a "phase". TV is not an enemy or a fortune teller, it may just be a focal point for anxiety.

Television turns your brain into a substance not unlike guacamole dip. We could tell you what to think, but what would be the point?

It depends on what you both believe. Like, if you believe that when road runner blows coyote up with TNT and still walks away , that , that is real , than that's a problem.
