Serial killers are people who kill on at least three occasions with a break in between each murder. The crimes committed are a result of a compulsion that may have roots in the killer's (often dysfunctional) youth and psychopathological disorders, as opposed to those who are motivated by financial gain (e.g., contract killers) or ideological/political motivations (e.g., terrorism, democide).

If I thought like a serial killer, I'd know how a serial killer thinks!! But I'm not in that state of mind. If you really want to know, though, I'd say 2 or more. And just out of curiosity, WHY are you asking??!!

a serial killer is a person who has killed at least 3 people at different times with a similar motive, and similar method in each of the cases

To be deemed a serial killer it does take at least 3 murders.

A serial killer is usually one who kills several people over a period of time - not all at one time - and at least 3 I would think!@

It would have to be 2 or more, and there would need to be a marked similarity in some area of the victims existances, like same height,hair and eye color,body type, background, etc.
