I think the "morning after pill" should be sold over the counter. It is too expensive to use it for everyday birth control, but it is nice to have it available if there is a problem. I answered a question a few days ago about a woman who had a boyfriend break a condom during sex. She was worried about getting pregnant, if she had access to this pill that would relieve a lot of her problems.
It is a known fact that the pill works better if; the earlier it is taken after sex. To waste time by requiring a doctor's prescription only causes unnecessary delay.
The Birth Control Pill is legal and widely accepted. I see this pill as the same thing in another form. I am not a wimp; I believe that abortion is murder, plain and simple. I also think that it should be legal. I think that the worst form of child abuse is to force a mother to raise an unwanted child. That can destroy both people, and their families. The child and mother have to live with this uneasy almost hatred for the next 18 years. Children raised in this manner are often abused and almost always turn into damaged individuals. They often take out their rage on their partners and society in general.
To avoid having to pay this price, and forcing an unwanted child into the world I am willing to allow abortions, so that means I am willing to allow the "morning after pill." I have no problem with it being kept behind the counter and only sold to adults. Children and teenagers are not responsible enough to have sex. If they do then their parents need to know. If the child needs a “morning after pill,” for whatever reason, then her mother needs to be informed.
The biggest advantage of the "morning after pill" is how it helps raped women. I can't imagine having to raise a child that was created through rape. I don't see how the mother can stand to look at such a child. Abortion is a traumatic affair and if this pill can make them unnecessary then I am all for it.

I think that having the morning after pill over the counter, is a great idea. I know that some people will abuse it, but they could make a limit on the amount you can buy in a month or year or something. I mean jesh there are alot of kids in foster homes and other places...if this will help keep the numbers down i'm all for it.

I think that people need to be more responsible for their health. Making the morning after pill over the counter would instill the idea that it was birth control. It's not birth control. It would also decrease the necessary visits that women make to the gynecologist. Visits that are vital for detecting different cancers, STD's, and preventable illnesses.

Here in Canada it is available over the counter and it did not work for me because I had baby # 2 after taking it. No it does not create mor ehavoc because it still costs money to buy it and if it actually worked I would promote it.

No I think people would be more irresponsible, they would forgo condoms and birth control because it would be easy to deal with it afterwards. Just like if they could sell abortion pills over the counter......

No. They have the ability to really mess you up if you take them wrong. Can you imagine a bunch of airheaded 13 yr olds popping into the drug store and buying them with no instructions other than what their friends have heard? How about brain surgery in the alley? Would you like to see that be normal also?

I think your question is misleading.
You only give two possible outcomes where there a many many many.
Basically, it's none of your business what other people do with their own body, so get something else to obsess over.

No- that would be horrible! Remember when the girl went to jail for going over seas and having the drug in our country- now we want to put on our shelves at the drugs stores! That is hypocritical! If they do the need to reimburse that girl for her freedom she lost!

I don't think it should ever be legalized. I don't think people should ever use it, you have to take responsiblity for your actions, and just because a woman prevents a pregnancy from society does not mean that God doesn't know about it.

How about if people just show some responsibility the night before and wear a condom?
