They would just pay the current child support, if the custodial parent files for a incense they would have to pay any amount the judge incenses it by. The lottery winning would only be a source of income like getting a raise etc.

You Don't give a lot of info but based on your question, I will make these assumptions:
If You are divorced And you have an established court ordered "child support" agreement In Place then it Sucks to be You because you or your child are entitled to nothing more. It's entirely up to the lottery winner what he does with His money after you and the kid are out of his life.
It's true that you Could take him back to court But if he won any major $$$ in the Lottery, he can afford to hire a "Big Gun" attorney and it wouldn't be hard for him to Now prove himself to be the better choice to be your child's primary parent simply because he can provide a better lifestyle than you can. You could lose your kid.
At the minimum, he'd kick your butt in the court room by having a better lawyer and the money to keep You in court until you are broke from trying to pay Your "B-Team" attorney.
But if your divorce is Not final, go for the throat because it Sucks to be Him!

If you have a child you should pay relative to the amount of money that you have. If you are rich your child should not be living on the child support of someone whose support payment is based on the wages they made before they had the money. It is not right or fair to do that to anyone. I don't know if they legally HAVE to share, but they should. At the very least they should put a percentage of it into a trust fund and ensure that the child is not wanting in any way shape or form in the present.

The general rule is that child support is based on regular income, not one time windfalls. However, divorce lawyers are known for their aggressivness; and if some poor ******* was to win a few million in a lottery, his ex wife can probably find some lawyer willing to come up with some legal basis to drag him back into court for an increase in support. Of course now he'll be able to afford his own equally aggressive lawyer.

I don't know the rules in the US about windfalls, but I think in India we'd have to share a proportionate chunk by placing it as a trust fund for the child/ren. Not very clear on this.

Oh goodness, i would hope none, but i would hope they would maybe give a trust to that child, not to the other "parent" cuz we all know most child support does not go to the child. it goes for new cars and hair and nails did and drinking and partyin'

I really don't believe this applies because it is not wages and it is a one time thing.
