Start out with lower thicker heals to get comfortable with them
(and confident).

Realize that you're going to walk in a way that makes your
hips swing - this is part of their charm - and part of their danger.

As you get better, start wearing higher heels.

That being said, medically: DO NOT WEAR HEELS!

They are horrible for your feet, forcing your toes together,
deforming the bones in the front and changing the muscle
structure in the rear of your foot.

Vanity now becomes foot surgery in 30 years.

If you must wear them, only wear them to special occasions.
Do NOT wear them every day at the office. There are a lot
of nice looking flat shoes that won't increase your future
medical bills.

Start with small heels, practice your walk, and keeping your balance. This was my trick. When you walk try standing up straight and tilting your back backwards but not to far. This will allow you to walk easier and you won't feel like your going to fall over as a result of wearing those high heels.

don't torture your feet! make sure the heels aren't too high! Trust me, if the heels arent too high, you will be able to walk easier and it looks much better. and if it hurts, the heels arent for you. depends what sort of heels you have ie the pointed heels. they would hurt but your feet would stretch into them, like i mentioned earlier, don't get the ones that are too high. i also agree with Alana. you are slowly deforming the shape of your feet, especially if the heels are real high or if the heels squashes your toes together. only wear them for special occasions. i knew a friend who had to have surgery on her feet because her feet were so badly deformed, and she only wore heels for one night which was her yr 12 formal. im a hughe heel fanatic and after the experence my friend went through, all of my gfs and i switchd to smaller heels and they look great! it was more comfortable and easier to walk in.

Start with a small heel and work your way up. Make sure you have the right size and style to be comfortable in, and just work on your balance.

Wear your heels and practice at home. Put your hands on your waist...this would help you learn how to balance...then when you walk in them put heel first one foot infront of the other. Once you get good at it youll like your floating!! Good Luck hope I helped.

It starts with confidence in yourself. Heels should make you feel sexy and confident. Put them on and stand in front of a mirror and just look at how sexy it makes you look. This will calm your nerves a bit. Then just practice taking babysteps in your house where no one can see you but you. You have to be confident and practice.
