Cocopeat is a natural fibre made out of coconut husks. The extraction of the coconut fibre from husks gives us this by-product called cocopeat. Cocopeat is a 100% natural growing medium. This cocopeat dried in the natural sun, are processed to produce different items namely cocopeat bale, cocopeat bags, cocopeat briquettes, cocopeat tablets etc. This makes an excellent growing medium for hydrophonics or container plant growing. Clean coir has natural rooting hormones and anti-fungal properties. Most of all cocopet is 100% organic natural and root friendly product.

I believe you mean the kind that is use as a mulch. It does smell good. It can be very bad for dogs that eat it. It is cocoa bean shell. It can hold moisture in the ground the same as any organic mulch. People seem to like it for its color and texture.
